Fingerprintstudios Architects where appointed by Shoosh Brighton to provide designs ready for a planning application for a new shisha bar and nightclub to support there current offering as one of Brightons most popular nightclub and bar on the popular beachfront location within the arches.
Designing solutions for commercial beach front locations
Achievement
A lightweight structure designed using a man hand able structural steel sections provided the solution was proposed to assist in its construction on the beach location. The site is opposite the successful Shoosh Brighton
nightclub and bar and sits on a paved area directly on the pebbled beach front.
The sliding screens are designed as light weight screens to provide shelter for seasonal weather, but the building structure was designed as a more temporary solution compared to a permanent building.
A central core providing access to a rooftop area was envisaged to create a permanent outdoor area.
The design of the light weight structure creates a unique architectural solution which in turn would create the interior itself. The exposed steel frame design and the light weight screens maintain that view to Brighton sea front.
A nod to the existing Brighton West Pier and Brighton Palace Pier in the use of the steel frame continues on with a sympathetic solution for Brighton’s sea front. Unfortunately, due to Covid 19 and on going economic pressure this project has not gone ahead.
