Project Overview
As part of the renewal of UK Power Networks asset to create leading facilities to support there office staff and engineers in the renewal of the London power grid.
To create a new low energy facility for office and engineer teams “to keep the lights on in London”. Providing emergency support and counter terrorism infrastructure for London power grid.
Achievement
Bengeworth Place provides a home for UK Power Networks and the National Grid to provide engineering and office facilities to execute planned and unplanned maintenance works on the London power grid.
The site is home to a number of very old and tired buildings and structures with the facilities supporting bot the office and engineering staff within a number of evolved and obsolete solutions.
This project was used to reimagine a solution as part of the design and build as client agent to provide the design for new engineering and office facilities.
The use of solar shading and micro ventilated louvres as well as passive ventilation strategies where formed as part of UKPN need to provide a sustainable approach to the delivery of maintaining the power grid in London.
