Background
Andrews and Andrews Solicitors contacted Fingerprintstudios Architects about gaining Listed Building Consent as well as a change of use planning application to enable the Grade 2 Listed building refurbishment to take place.

Fingerprintstudios assisted Andrews and Andrews Solicitors from concept to completion, through the Statutory Applications, contract information, tender action and tender negotiation and on site contract management.

The site was previously home to Sue Fosters Interiors and was a very tired building.

Philosophy
A complete upgrade and overhaul of the building was undertaken to bring the Grade 2 Listed building refurbishment upto modern standards.

The upgrading of the building included and upgrade of the historic fabric through a careful conservation using traditional methods and materials to ensure the historic fabric stands for another 100 years. Internally during the course of the refurbishement historic naval timbers where found, rotten floor joists and historic well where found, recorded and reported to the Listed Buildings Officer before the sensitive refurbishment was underway.

Solution
A complete review and survey of the structure was prepared and consultation with the Local Authorities Listed Buildings Officer enabled us to remove internal walls and floors and provide a new internal layout to create the new office.

A refurbishment of a tired retail unit and change of use application for a Solicitors to create a satellite officer for 6 staff.

Fingerprintstudios Architects secured both a Listed Buildings Application and Change of Use Planning Application with Havant Borough Council.
