Contemporary New Build Low Energy Town Houses. – Godalming Surrey

Contemporary New Build Low Energy Town Houses.

Contemporary New Build Town Houses – Godalming Surrey

Contemporary New Build Low Energy Town Houses. – Godalming Surrey

Designing a contemporary new build low energy town house.

Fingerprintstudios are working on design plans for new build town housing in Godalming. These contemporary town houses have been designed for a client on a hill slope site in Godalming. These designs have been prepared for a challening toen centre site on a steep sloping site.

Low energy homes designed for the modern family.

These will be low energy homes designed to create new family homes to add to the wealth and quality of housing in the area. The design has been carefully considered so the pitched roof is orientated south. This roof will then accommodate both solar Photo Voltaic’s (PV) for electricity generation and Solar Hot Water for internal hot water heating. The use of air tightness membranes, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) will assist in providing a thermally efficient roof, walls and floors to provide a very efficient shell. It is the clients goal to provide Low energy homes that can be marketed for the modern family. In all the architecture design provides a responsive design that works with providing a low energy home that works within the landscape.

Sloping Site and Town House Design.

The extremely sloping site is a major constraint and the design for the Contemporary New Build Low Energy Town Houses. – Godalming Surrey has responded by creating two town houses with a shared external staircase. The homes main entrance is off the ground floor via the front car park. An internal staircase takes you to the first floor with living and kitchen accommodation that has direct access to the rear garden. The internal floor levels work with the existing landscape to provide a holistic design approach. The third floor provides bedroom accommodation with en-suites and family bathrooms. The large expanse of glass to the main elevations allow for views over the historic Godalming town centre and beyond.

THE EYE – Enterprise Youth Education Community Centre.

Fingerprintstudios Architects are working on the delivery of a new youth and community centre: THE EYE – Enterprise Youth Education Community Centre

Fingerprintstudios Architects are proud to be working on the contemporary design of a new youth and community centre in the heart of Billingshurst. This new youth and community centre will provide a new facility for young people to have some where to go and something to do.

THE EYE – Enterprise Youth Education Community Centre A new youth and community centre.

This Education Youth Enterprise Community Centre will provide an important asset to the local community providing a much needed facility to support the youth and future generations. This will provide the youth with a base to learn new skills and become valuable assets for the local area.

A challenging site for a planning application.

The site is a green built of land shoe horned into a built up area making vehicular access challenging. The site is no doubt challenging for any planning application. The site is land locked with no vehicular access, its bound on one side by a direct London railway line, two public right of way footpaths, a school MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) and playing fields, Billingshurst Bowling Club and a residential area. In all this will prove to have many hurdles and challenges for us during our efforts to obtain planning permission for this Education Youth Enterprise Community Centre.

Vernacular design with a modern twist.

This initial massing model gives a flavour of our current thoughts for the Education Youth Enterprise Community Centre. Taking a pinch of the local vernacular design and mixing it with a contemporary and modern twist will provide an interesting and dynamic youth centre for the community. The pitched roof and timber cladding are a direct reference to the barns found within the local area of West Sussex. This modern twist is used to ensure that the local youth are attracted to this new facility.

Permitted Development VS Planning Permission

Permitted Development vs Planning Permission.

Permitted Development vs Planning Permission Extension.

Planning Permission vs Permitted Development?

Planning Permission vs Permitted Development?

As a client you could stand to save money and get your project on site quicker by exercising your rights under permitted development. However there are some things to be considered. Permitted development is untested in land law as a relatively new change to planning law. Planning applications for domestic extensions typically cost £172 and permitted development allow you to build without the need or the cost of a planning application with the Local Authority. However you will be constrained to the rules governing permitted development. You can apply for a permitted development certificate which will ensure that if you are looking forward to selling your property you are safe in the knowledge that the application is lawful. Fingerprintstudios Architects can assist you in professional advice at the start of your construction project from concept to completion. Permitted Development VS Planning Permission requires some real consideration and appointing us as your architect we can provide the professional advice to guide you through the process.

Permitted development for a new single storey rear extension.

PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT – Fingerprintstudios are preparing an initial concept scheme for a permitted development for a single storey rear extension. This piece of Architecture falls within the parameters for Permitted Development as set out by Central and Local Government. THIS SCHEME DOES NOT REQUIRE FORMAL PLANNING PERMISSION.

Contemporary Flat Roof and Bi-fold doors under Permitted Development.

Permitted development does not mean that your new house extension has to be bland and boring. Whilst permitted development puts some restrictions on the design, size and massing of the house extension or design proposal, this does not mean that the design can not be considered. As an architectural practice we are skilled in looking outside the box and exploring opportunities and constraints to maximise the design and finding the benefits for our clients.

We work hard to get the most for our clients, be it through a traditional Planning Application or through Permitted Development we can help you make your dreams a reality.

Planning Application Approval.

Approved Planning Application for an expansive County home.

Planning Application Approval.

We have obtained Planning Application Approval from the Hampshire County Council for this residential extension which includes a new detached heated garage, two storey rear extension and a new indoor swimming pool connected via a contemporary glass link. The scheme creates the opportunity to bring this lovely Expansive home.

The design is centred on making the rear of the house becoming more connected to the garden and the new swimming pool. A large open plan living area with double height living space will ensure that future generations of this historic home will enjoy this house.

These sensitive adaptations where seen favourably by Hampshire County Council and although the extension will see an increase of approx. 50% additional floor space the planning application approval was granted with no additional planning conditions.

Landscape Design.

A significant landscaping scheme to the front and rear provides private and shared pockets of space from the main house and the swimming pool. Ensuring that the design of the landscape and the home flow from inside and outside. The site has some noticeable level changes and these have been adapted within the landscape and between the existing home and the new swimming pool. Thus creating some interesting steps and built in seating.

Heated garage for luxury cars.

A new heated garage for the clients dream garage, which includes Ferrari’s, Porsche’s and Audi’s required a new detached garage with a heated floor, high levels of insulation to ensure that these high end cars where maintained in an optimum environment.

The indoor swimming pool saw a new contemporary addition to the home with a pitched tiled roof with a large expanse of glass. This ensures that the interior is flooded with daylight and whilst swimming you are still connected to the exterior.
